Windows + Shift + S is a keyboard shortcut in Windows that opens the Snipping Tool, allowing you to take a screenshot (a "snip") of any part of your screen, which is then copied to your clipboard and a notification appears for editing/saving. It offers different modes (rectangle, free-form, window, full-screen) to capture specific areas, windows, or the entire display, making it a versatile tool for screen capture.
How to use it:
  1. Press Windows key + Shift + S simultaneously.
  2. Your screen will dim, and a toolbar will appear at the top.
  3. Select a snip mode: Rectangle: Drag your mouse to create a rectangular box. Free-form: Draw any shape around the area you want. Window: Select a specific open application window. Full-screen: Captures the entire screen.
  4. After capturing, the image is in your clipboard (paste with Ctrl + V) and a notification lets you open the Snipping Tool for editing or saving. image.png
